Sycamore Base team:
Our teachers are Mrs Palmer (0.6), Mrs Nix (0.4), Mrs Putt (0.4) and Miss Beusmans. We also have four wonderful teaching assistants, Mrs Boyle, Mrs Smallbones, Mrs Richardson and Mrs Willcock. Our lovely teaching assistants teach phonics and lead focus groups to help extend or reinforce our learning.
Information about Sycamore Base:
In Sycamore base we have two lovely classrooms and one shared studio area where we enjoy creative activities.
Our topic changes every half term and all of our learning is linked to our exciting topics. We are looking forward to exploring our topics through practical, engaging activities.
Every half term we focus on one of the Rs (Responsibility, Resilience, Respect, Resourcefulness, Reflection and Reciprocity) so that we understand what skills and attitudes are necessary in order to be a successful independent learner. We will continue to explore ways of fostering a growth mind-set so that children relish challenges, are intrigued by mistakes, feel proud of effort and continue to be excited about new learning.
If you show one of the 6R's you will be rewarded a gem, which will contribute towards an exciting base reward. As a reward for being excellent learners we earn 'choosing time' on a Friday afternoon. Children who have been particularly good role models are chosen to move their name pegs onto the rainbow. Children that always demonstrate the Rs may be asked to move their name peg to the 'pot of gold' and complete an extra special activity!
Sycamore Base Governor is: Mrs Jean O'Shea.
