On Wednesday we made toy shaped cookies with Pam, grating and squeezing lemons to add flavour. We also had a police officer visit us and tell us about life in the met AND this week we had a loan box from the priest house museum to explore toys in the past. 

Lots of parents have also sent in pictures of their old toys and we've loved looking through and discussing these. 

Next week we're looking forward to some DT, and lots more super learning.

We have also been to the IT suite this week, practising our mouse skills by using the paintz.app. 

The most popular moment of the week though was when AFC Bournemouth came in to talk to us about resilience. We heard about how footballers have to believe in themselves and persevere. We then made our own posters, with help from Matt and Abby, focused on being resilient!

This week we wrote fact files on our favourite animal, we then created a best copy of these in pre cursive handwriting. When our fact files were finished we made them into a class book, which we took to the library this afternoon!

Friday was also our gem jar day, postponed from before half term. We spent the day thinking about science and animals. We designed and labelled an animal that could live on chilly Mars, and camouflaged butterflies around the classroom.

We are very excited for our trip next Friday!

We continued our travels around the world and wrote some lovely postcards to Mr Parsons all about Tobago! We also had a great sports day, participating in lots of activities including scoring goals, an obstacle course and egg and spoon race! Although we were sad not to have parents watching, we were cheered on by Beech and Ash base.

The Rainbow Serpent is about a serpent creating the world! (Sophie)

My favourite part of the story was when the Rainbow Serpent made the mountains (Chloe)

We learnt some new words this week too! A new word I learnt was uncoiled it means if something is wrapped around in a circle and then if you uncoil something, it isn’t wrapped anymore (Tom)

My favourite part of the week was learning about the animals that live in Australia like koala and a kangaroo. We also learnt what a boomerang was. (McKenzie)
