It contributes to the material, spiritual and emotional well-being of the individual and helps to build a balanced personality and sense of identity.

Design and technology is an inspiring and practical subject. Using both creativity and imagination, pupils design and make products that solve real and relevant problems within a variety of contexts. They obtain a broad range of subject knowledge and draw on disciplines such as mathematics, science, computing and art. Children learn how to take risks, experiment, innovative and enterprising. Children will look at past and present design and technology, evaluating and developing them. They develop a vital understanding of technology and how it impacts on daily life and the world.
